“It must be borne in mind that the tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream…”
-Dr. Benjamin E. Mays
“Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.”
-Leon J. Suenes

Theatre of the Performing Arts of Shreveport (TPA)

Yazzy Musical Theater Workshop
led by New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Instructors

If you enjoy instrumental music, voice, theater, dance, and visual arts, mark your calendars for our Yazzy musical theater workshop on Saturday, March 9, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy, 2550 Thomas E. Howard Drive. Our organization welcomes students, ages 7 – 24, who are interested in joining our Yazzy program. Our guest artists will be staff and instructors from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). NOCCA is a regional, pre-professional arts training center that offers students intensive instruction in culinary arts, dance, media arts: filmmaking & audio production, music, theatre arts, visual arts, and creative writing, while demanding simultaneous academic excellence. Andy Bower, LeeAnn Hovis, and Simone Immanuel, will all be joining us from NOCCA.

NOCCA’s record of accomplishment over the past decades speaks for itself: every year a remarkable 95 – 98% of NOCCA graduates go on to college and conservatory programs across the country. Approximately 80% of NOCCA students receive scholarships to pursue such higher education. The key to NOCCA’s success is the ethic of discipline and responsibility it instils in students, which prepares them for productive adult lives whether they choose to pursue art careers.

Rack cards are enclosed. This event is free for interested students in Caddo, Bossier, and Desoto Parish. We welcome new members to help with future productions, both on stage and behind the scenes. If you have any questions or need additional information, contact our office at 318-525- 0740 or 318-584-1610.
